This week I had the job of being the Illuminator. This weeks reading of To Kill a Mocking Bird, we are now starting to experience conflict and emotions. Conflicts that we have never seen before, and emotion that is new. In the story we find out now that Dill has a crush on Scout. We find that out when he leans in and gives her a kiss on the cheek. Emotion is expressed when the fire to Ms. Maudie's house occurs. She shows that even though a conflict can occur, like her house burning down, you can still be happy and joyful. She proves that even though crisis happens you are to be thankful for what you do have.
In our literature circle this week we discussed all of our questions in major detail and if someone didn't agree with someone we talked it out and discussed until we saw eye to eye. We may sometimes have gotten off topic, but really everything we talked about in our questions we were making and discussing how it related to our lives. Which was really cool. My group pretty much had a debate going on when someone said something. We worked very well together, helping each other with each question and just had a grand time.
I learned in this section reading that even though crisis may happen and destroy all things. That we need to be thankful and grateful for what we do have in out lives. Be thankful for what we do have cause there are so many people who don't have the things we as an individual have. Ms Maudie helps me to understand that by when her house gets burned down. She loses everything possession wise that she owns. But she keeps her head up and looks at the bigger picture not the little picture. She knows that she could have been the one killed but yet she's still alive and healthy. I believe everyone should realize this that their lives can be greatly changed in a matter of a flash or a blink of an eye.
Work on steps one and two. Really focus on giving specific details and examples in these steps.
