TKMB Chapters 12-16 Connector

In this weeks section reading my specific job was to be the connector. Connecting and contrasting  different things that my questions were based upon. Between me and my life vs. the story so far. It gives you a real eye opening to how closely this book relates to today's world. How yes, there is still so much racism still in today, and how similar the book is to me. It relates to me because I live in a small town where every one knows everyone and whats going on around town. It defiantly shows me the connection between me and the book by just how the book describes the town very descriptively and how each and everyone acts/ behaves. How everyone knows each other and what everyone is up too. A lot of the conflicts are similar too between real life and the book, like the romance that is now entering the scene between Dill and Scout, and also the trial. The trial because it relates to a small town how everyone shows up and if they don't show up they want to know exactly what went on and what was said. The romance is stated in my answer because in a small town so many people know who each others dating or who likes who and whats going on.

In this weeks Literature circle, yes, we discussed the questions, but really my group was off task and talking about the most random things. Some people were talking over each other, so it was hard to stay focused and take in what everyone was saying. Some people didn't get to speak much, because like me i have a very soft voice, and when everyone is talking at once it's hard to hear and speak. So overall my group needs to work on slowing down and really striving to stay on task and focus. Listen to each other.

In this section the section really sticks out to me about racism and the trial. No trial should ever have to be one sided just because it's a Black vs. a White. We are all equal and the trial should have been on what was true and what was wrong. Who's in the wrong vs. right. Not hey your a black so you "must" be obviously wrong. Wrong! We should not have that factor in a case trial. The trial now wouldn't actually be a trial on what the origonal factor was. If it's one sided and your already racist why have a trial? Well if no trial white folk may think they have the "upper" hand, when really we live in America, we should be having equality and freedom not silly racism. We are all created equal.
